ITIDA

(Singer/Songwriter/Performing Artist/Author)

Aditi Srivastava Modi, known professionally in the music world as Itida, is a Southern California based Indian-American Singer/Songwriter/Performing Artist, who is also a disciple of Legendary Padmavibhushan Dr. Girija Devi (Benaras Gharana Classical-Vocal).

Itida's initial direction was law, not music. But it was while she was on her track towards law school and post her graduation from University of California at San Diego, that she indulged in her passion for music and songwriting--A gift she inherited from her Paternal Grandmother. She went to India and started formal Vocal Hindustani Classical training under her legendary Guru.

She released her debut album Pen & Paper in 2013 via Hungama Music/Artist Aloud, which was followed up by a fusion album Des-Pardes in 2014 and released under the same banner. Both albums were well received and reigned in the TOP 10 Independent music charts in India/Artist Aloud. Moreover, out of 200 female artists in India, ITIDA was nominated in the "Best Female (Pop) category and was in the Top 5 position for the Artist Aloud Music Awards (2015).  Along with her two popular album releases, ITIDA has also produced and released singles (EP's), which have been widely appreciated.

For her efforts in the field of music, ITIDA was awarded with the Uttar Pradesh NRI (Non-Resident Indian) Ratna Award, by the Chief Minister of the State, in 2017. https://www.pressreader.com/india/hindustan-times-lucknow/20160101/281479275390137

Her music reflects a taste of folk, hindustani classical (Benaras Gharana) and sufi (A reflection of her family's roots to Lucknow and Uttar Pradesh, India)--mixed with her western and global musical influences.

She has performed live Solo and with her band throughout India.  She has also collaborated with various artists from around the world through founding Des-Pardes, an International Fusion band. ITIDA hopes to someday bring Hindustani Classical Music, along with Sufi and Folk music of India onto a bigger platform, through her efforts in spreading fusion music, while reflecting it as "Educating" Fusion Music in the World Music scene.

Aditi has taken her musical experience and decided to spread her Indian heritage with the next generation.  Under her real name, Aditi Srivastava Modi, she has written Children's Books so the next generation can learn about their culture & heritage.

She continues to explore the new directions that music & and writing takes her, and truly hopes you will join her on this journey.
